Phallic Logo Awards

Okay, I know this is crass, but I'm a designer and I notice things like logos. These are some of the funniest things I've ever seen. I am not including a sample because I'm a nice guy that way, so if you don't want to look at some really penile-looking logos, don't click the link.

If you do, here's the link. Now excuse me while I go through every logo I've ever done in my career and make sure there isn't a possible candidate for this list among them.

Fake or Photo?

This is a cool little online quiz where you try to figure out whether an image is a photograph or a computer-generated facsimile. I got seven out of ten correct. Some of them are really hard.

Da Vinci Code

Ok, the trailer is now out.

I enjoyed this book--actually I got the book on CD and listened to it on the way to New Orleans a couple years ago for New Years Eve. I'm not a big fanatic like some people were over its "meanings" and "implications" .. I never got worked up over it. But I have enjoyed some of Dan Brown's other work (Angels & Demons, Deception Point), and am looking forward to the Ron Howard movie due out in 2006.

I noticed today though on a blog somewhere that several letters are highlighted mysteriously at the end of the trailer. The letters are T, H, S, E, C, D, E, and O.

The only thing I can come up with is, these letters rearranged spell "THE CODES".

Two other messages are highlighted in a similar fashion: the word "SEEK" and the Web site address, "SoDarkTheConOfMan.com". Perhaps these letters should be thrown in the mix also? Is there a hidden code in the trailer for The Da Vinci Code?

It wouldn't be the first time Sony's tried to hide secret codes in their entertainment products.
